Cobot Lab: Program a Real Industrial Robot Arm
Ages 11 to 18 (grades 6 to 12). No experience needed. Your student teaches a real industrial cobot one movement on the teach pendant.
Saturday, November 14. Three 2-hour sessions: 10:00 AM, 12:15 PM, and 2:30 PM. At theCoderSchool Irvine, 14200 Culver Drive, Suites 200 and 201.
What happens in a session
This is robotics engineering on a real industrial cobot. Students learn the status of working with the arm itself. It is not training for a factory job, and it is not a toy.
- A safety briefing comes first.
- Each student teaches the industrial robot arm one movement on the teach pendant. The movement is pick and place: sort shapes, stack cubes.
- Those movements are combined in one full run.
- In the last 10 minutes, parents watch a live demo.
Each session is 2 hours. Bring a friend. Friends who sign up together are placed in the same group.
Photo and media use is a separate opt-in. It is not part of signing up.
Age groups
Students ages 11 to 18 (grades 6 to 12) work in their own group. Groups are 8 to 10 students.

Questions
Does my student need experience?
No. No experience needed.
What if we need to change or cancel?
A family may move to another session, take a credit, or get a full refund.
What if a student is removed for safety?
A student removed for safety reasons gets no refund, credit, or transfer, except as required by law. We tell the parent at the time.
Who handles drop-off and pick-up?
Drop-off and pick-up are handled by theCoderSchool under its rules.
Can staff give medication?
Staff do not give medication.
Do you provide transportation?
No transportation is provided.
What about phones?
Phones stay away near the robot.
What should my student wear?
Closed-toe shoes. Hair tied back. No loose clothing or jewelry.
