Terms

Eligibility

Cobot Lab events and Cobot Courses are for students ages 11 to 18 (grades 6 to 12), in middle school and high school. A weekend workshop for college students ages 18 to 22 is a side option. A parent or legal guardian joins the waitlist for the student.

What's included

A confirmed session includes the supervised work on the industrial cobot and the materials named for that session.

Waitlist

Hexkit Cobot Lab sign-ups on this site go through theCoderSchool Irvine's registration page, and the Hexkit waitlist is how families hear about other Hexkit dates. Joining the Hexkit waitlist does not charge you.

No student joins the live cell without a signed waiver. The waiver is sent when a date is confirmed.

Conduct and safety

Students follow instructor directions and cell safety rules at all times. We may remove a participant immediately for safety violations or conduct endangering anyone. Refund, credit, and transfer for that removal are in Cancellations and refunds below and in our Refund policy.

Cancellations and refunds

If a session is under the minimum registration by a set deadline before the session, it may be combined with another session. Except as described below, the family may move to another session, take a credit, or get a full refund. If we cancel a session, the family gets a full refund. Other cancellation rules are in our Refund policy.

If we remove a student from a session for a safety violation or for not following the posted rules or an instructor's directions, no refund, credit or transfer is given for that session, except as required by law. We will tell the parent by phone or email at the time.

Photos and media

Photo and media use is a separate opt-in. It is not bundled with the waitlist, with registration, or with the waiver. A family can attend without agreeing to photo or media use. We never publish a student's full name without separate written permission.

Student work

You keep your program files and demo video. We may use anonymized, non-identifying photos of equipment or processes.

Liability

Participation is governed by the signed Workshop Participation Agreement and Liability Waiver (California law; venue in Orange County, California).

Changes

We may update these terms. The version in effect when a session is confirmed applies to that session.
