Real industrial 6-axis cobot
Students train on an industrial cobot, the kind used in shops, not a desktop toy kit.

For parents who want robotics engineering on a real industrial cobot. Start with the 2-hour Hexkit Cobot Competition, in separate Middle School and High School brackets. Then the Middle School track, Levels 1 to 5, or the High School Advanced track: a Bridge, then Levels 6 to 10. Each level ends with a certificate of completion that unlocks the next. A strong fit for a competitive high school robotics team, and for a student starting out.
Joining the waitlist does not charge you. We will email you when dates and details are confirmed.
* The background video shows why cobots matter in a semiconductor clean room. Class time is on our cobot, not a fab course.

Coding camps stay on laptops. HEXKIT ACADEMY puts students ages 11 to 18 (grades 6 to 12) on a real industrial cobot, practicing the teach pendant work robotics engineers use.
The same class of arm shows up in space work, in medical labs, and in the clean rooms of new US chip and GPU plants.
Students train on an industrial cobot, the kind used in shops, not a desktop toy kit.
Every student gets hands-on time on the teach pendant. Not watching from the back of the room.
Students leave with a certificate of completion at each course level. That certificate unlocks the next level.
Industrial cell experience: safety, motion, tooling, and shop judgment. Screens support the work. They are not the work.

Live motion from the HEXKIT ACADEMY cobot. Jump to Reach, Pose, Over the table, or Set down. The clip is the arm students ages 11 to 18 (grades 6 to 12) use in class.

Program a real industrial robot arm. Ages 11 to 18 (grades 6 to 12). No experience needed.
Registration open at theCoderSchool Irvine.
Mr. Kassem supervises HEXKIT ACADEMY sessions. He is a parent of two boys, one in middle school and one in elementary. He has an electrical and electronics engineering degree and over 20 years of industrial experience, and he stays with students while they jog the cobot.

Students ages 11 to 18 (grades 6 to 12) work on a real industrial cobot. The path is the Hexkit Cobot Competition, then levels, with a certificate of completion at each level. The ladder is on Courses.
Learn how cobots are programmed and tasked for real workshop jobs: motion, tooling, and workflow basics.
Hands-on hardware: inspect, diagnose, and care for real equipment the way a shop floor expects.
Industrial safety habits first: guards, procedures, and respect for machines that can move force.
More than coding drills: students practice shop judgment used in robotics, manufacturing, and the chip plants now being built.

Yes. US chip and GPU plants are a new manufacturing era. Their clean rooms use cobots for a lot of the careful, repeated handling, the work a person in a full suit does slowly. HEXKIT ACADEMY does not train students for a fab and does not offer a clean-room credential. Class time is supervised time on a real cobot.
Safety comes before motion. Every student passes a safety gate, including the three-ways-to-stop drill, before touching the arm. The cell runs with speed and force limits, emergency stops, and marked robot envelopes. Groups stay small, and the instructor stays with them the whole time. Parents may drop off and pick up according to the schedule, or wait in the waiting area.
No. Parents can drop off and pick up their student according to the schedule. If a parent prefers to stay, they can wait in the waiting area for the whole duration.
Courses are for ages 11 to 18 (grades 6 to 12). No prior robotics or coding experience is required to start. A competitive high school robotics team is a strong fit. College students ages 18 to 22 can join the waitlist for a weekend workshop.
Closed-toe shoes, hair tied back, no dangling jewelry or loose sleeves. We provide the equipment. Just bring your student.
Their own robot program files, a demo video of it running on the real arm, and a Cobot Foundations certificate of completion for their portfolio. The certificate is not an accredited credential and is not college credit.
